And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Otis Gein!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gein shoots in for a takedown but Kent shows good takedown defense.
Gein ducks under a wild hook from Kent.
Kent lands a jab.
Kent misses with a two punch combination.
Kent tries to bum rush Gein with a series of wild strikes but Gein uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gein tries to clinch up but Kent circles away and keeps his distance.
Kent misses with a straight left.
Gein takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kent throws a right and a left that Gein avoids nicely.
Kent pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gein tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Kent takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Peter Kent has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kent swats away the attempt to clinch by Gein.
Otis Gein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kent throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gein tries to bum rush Kent with a series of wild strikes but Kent uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gein tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kent swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gein slips a straight right by Kent.

Gein doesn't manage to clinch there - Kent circles away.
Kent is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Gein's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Kent forces Gein back against the cage and clinches.
Gein fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Kent's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kent just misses with a punch to the body.

Gein rushes Kent and presses him up against the cage.

Kent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gein throws a hook to the side of Kent's head but Kent sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gein moves away from the strike by Kent.

Gein won't allow Kent to get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gein wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.

Kent has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gein postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gein stops Kent from standing up.
Kent throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Gein is fighting to break Kent's control of his arms but Kent is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Gein is in close to Kent's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kent wants to sweep here but Gein controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Peter Kent just wasn't active enough.

Kent throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kent swings for the body but Gein moves out of range.
Kent looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kent throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gein tries to clinch but Kent is having none of it.
Gein takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kent lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gein uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kent.
Gein closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kent circles away.
Kent misses with a hook.
Kent tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gein was well out of range. Poor timing from Kent.
Gein avoids the body shot from Kent.
Kent throws a series of punches but Gein moves out of range.

Kent gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A close round but Otis Gein will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Peter Kent's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Gein wants to clinch up but Kent keeps it at a distance.

Kent uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Gein slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gein throws an elbow but Kent slips to the side and avoids it well.
Kent can't do much from the bottom here.
Kent is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at TOUGH DOJO-Family Dojo for best result, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Gein scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kent to see if he's OK.

Gein looks up at the clock and then as Kent takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gein smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kent avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gein.

Kent is trying to get back to his feet.
Gein wants to control for a moment but Kent uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Kent is not content to let Gein control the position.

Gein throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gein takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kent is controlling Gein's trapped leg to prevent Gein from advancing to side control.
Kent is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kent just trying to survive but Gein is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
