Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ashton Cryer!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George throws a shot to the body.
George tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cryer moves in looking to clinch but George pushes him off.
George lands a nice shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from George. No joy for Cryer on that attempt.
George darts in and out, connecting with a jab.


It looks like Ashton Cryer has been cut.
George throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Cryer on the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cryer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
George lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
George gets underhooks to prevent Cryer's takedown attempt.
Cryer is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ricky George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashton Cryer.

George pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

George rushes Cryer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Cryer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
George takes a swing at Cryer's ribcage but misses.
Cryer is looking to clinch but George is avoiding it.

George gets a clinch.
I was talking to George's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
George lands with a light punch inside.
Cryer drops down looking for an ankle pick but George pulls his leg out and moves away.
George lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Cryer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cryer showed some decent athleticism there.

Cryer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so George is just riding it out for now. Cryer eventually gives up the hold.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cryer is looking to advance position but George won't allow it.
Cryer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Cryer stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Cryer clinches.

Cryer tries for a takedown but George manages to get underhooks.
Cryer tries to pull guard but George forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
George lands with a short shot to the head.

George breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cryer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with George but George pushes him off and we're back to square one.
George darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Cryer tries to close the distance and clinch but George swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
George misses with a double jab
enabling Cryer to counter with a crisp jab.
Cryer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from George.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cryer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming George to the mat! George manages to get full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cryer trying to control the position from guard on top but George is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cryer drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Cryer as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! George screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Cryer! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Ashton Cryer!
Ashton Cryer decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
