Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nunchi Halonchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halonchi tries to clinch up.

Halonchi has closed the distance and engaged Alves in a clinch.
Halonchi will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alves up against the cage.
Alves is trying to break the clinch but Halonchi has him pressed against the cage.

Alves tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Halonchi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Halonchi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Alves closes the distance and clinches.

Halonchi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Alves's head.

Halonchi lands a nice uppercut.

Halonchi darts in and clinches Alves up against the cage.
Alves jumps guard but Halonchi stands there with Alves around his waist. Alves gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Halonchi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Alves works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Alves tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Halonchi smiles and moves away.
Nunchi Halonchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Alves.

and Halonchi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Halonchi.

Alves lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Alves is looking for a triangle but Halonchi pushes his legs off easily.

Halonchi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Alves has his foot on Halonchi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Halonchi works his way back into a safe position though.
Alves manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Halonchi manages to get himself to full guard.

Halonchi looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Alves is defending well. Halonchi quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Alves has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Halonchi celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
