Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Block (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Titan Boma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Titan Boma has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Block!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Titan Boma!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Block shoots for a double leg takedown but Boma sprawls well. He's pushed Block's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Boma throws a right and a left that both miss.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Boma enables Block to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boma manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Block throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Block throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Boma is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Block throws a strike but Boma rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Block could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Block seems keen to control Boma's posture.

Boma throws a big elbow that misses.
Boma in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Block might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Block preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Boma wants to pass the guard but Block is keeping the position.
Boma is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boma is looking to work some ground and pound but Block has wrist control.
Block pulls Boma in close to his closed guard and prevents Boma from doing any damage or advancing position.
Boma trying to control the position from guard on top but Block is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jim Block just wasn't active enough.
Block fails with a takedown attempt.
Block circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boma looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Boma's coach down at Build Up Crossfit was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Boma's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Boma throws a series of punches but Block moves out of range.
Boma swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Boma tries to clinch but Block moves out of range.

Block gets tackled into the cage by Boma. Boma maintains the clinch.
Block prevents the takedown attempt.

Boma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boma will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boma moves in looking to clinch but Block pushes him off.
A combination from Boma does no damage.

Block drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Block controls the position from side control.
Block scoring with punches and elbows.
The strikes coming from Block are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Block has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Jim Block will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Boma tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Block manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Block tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Boma defends well and Block ends up having to push Boma into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Block shoots for a takedown but Boma saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Boma wants to clinch.
Block swats away the attempt to clinch by Boma.

Boma fails to land with a series of punches.
Boma is looking to clinch but Block is avoiding it.
Block circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boma is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Block darts in looking for a takedown but Boma gets double underhooks and turns Block into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Block. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Boma throws a right hand that Block ducks under and follows up with a left that Block also avoids with ease.

Block has Boma pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Block pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Boma tumbling to the mat - Block dives into Boma's guard.
Block seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Block throws an elbow that misses. Boma uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Block's guard. Nice move by Boma!
Boma would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Block on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Block tries to get out of the position.
Block looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Block is controlling Boma's posture.

We're going to have a standup here because Jim Block wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Block closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Boma quickly recovers to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Block will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Block definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Titan Boma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Block shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boma as he jumps to the side.
Boma scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Boma's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Boma duly obliges.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boma is looking to clinch but Block is avoiding it.
Boma tries to close the distance and clinch up but Block swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Block misses with a takedown attempt - Boma sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Boma misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Titan Boma has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Block looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boma is fending him off so far but Block persists. Nope, Boma circles away and we're back to standing.
Boma throws a series of punches but Block avoids them all with ease.

And that's the end of the fight!
Titan Boma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Block has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
