Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Genki Sodo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Genki Sodo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Compton!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sodo is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Sodo has a takedown stuffed.
Sodo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Compton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sodo tries to move into range but Compton moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Sodo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Compton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sodo misses with a takedown attempt - Compton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Compton throws a right and a left that Sodo avoids nicely.
Compton throws a shot from downtown. Sodo moves away and avoids it.
Sodo fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Genki Sodo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sodo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sodo showed some decent athleticism there.
Compton wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sodo is trying to work for a kimura but Compton is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Sodo seems to be working for a kimura but Compton defends the submission attempt.
Compton trying to control but Sodo postures up.
Compton wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Compton wants to control but Sodo is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Compton misses with an uppercut. Sodo saw that one coming.
Sodo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Compton tries to bum rush Sodo with a series of wild strikes but Sodo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sodo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Compton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sodo moves into full mount!
Sodo looking to control but Compton is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Compton bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Compton wants to pass the guard but Sodo is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Compton preventing the sweep.

Sodo has an active guard here but Compton has managed to pass into half guard.
Sodo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sodo.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Sodo is breathing heavily.

Compton wanted to stand there but Sodo had control of the position.

Compton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Compton keeps the fight on the outside.
Sodo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Compton swivels and escapes.
Peter Compton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sodo shoots in but no luck this time.
Sodo moves out of range as Compton strikes.
Compton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Compton scores with a decent looking hook.
Sodo shoots for a takedown but Compton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Compton dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

No luck for Sodo with that takedown attempt.
Sodo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Compton.
Compton misses with a wild combination.
Sodo misses with the combination.
Compton lands with a right hand.
Genki Sodo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice sprawl there from Compton as Sodo shoots in.
Compton misses with a looping left.
Sodo defending well as Compton loads up on a big left hand.
Sodo fails to land the takedown.

Compton uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sodo blocks a jab.

No luck for Sodo with that takedown attempt.
Compton's corner calls for a 1-2. Compton obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Compton fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sodo on the side of the head.
Compton throws a body punch but Sodo moves out of range.
Sodo checks a leg kick nicely.
Sodo moves out of range of the strikes.
Sodo slips under a jab.
Sodo shoots in for a double leg but Compton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Compton missing with a left hand there. Sodo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sodo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Compton pinned against the cage. Compton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Compton throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Sodo takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


Sodo is rocked!
Compton throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Sodo stumbling backwards into the ropes! Sodo bounces back off the ropes towards Compton, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Compton lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Compton celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Peter Compton!
