Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Spades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Marvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marvin has Spades up against the cage in a clinch.
Marvin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spades just stands there and leans against the cage.

Spades breaks from the clinch.
Marvin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hank Marvin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marvin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Spades counters with a head kick.
Marvin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spades's waist but Spades gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marvin off to one side.

and Spades counters with a three punch combo that has Marvin backing up. Marvin nods at Spades to acknowledge the strikes.
David Spades has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hank Marvin.
Spades tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Marvin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Spades enables Marvin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Spades manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marvin tries to stand but Spades is controlling from the bottom.

Marvin trying to control the position from guard on top but Spades is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marvin wants to get up but he can't break Spades's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Marvin forces his way into half guard.
Still in half guard, Marvin seems content to control.
Spades wants to get back to his feet.

Marvin decides to return to a standing position.

Marvin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spades swivels and escapes.
Marvin closes the distance but Spades moves to the side
and Spades counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Spades misses with a two punch combination.

Marvin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marvin showed some decent athleticism there.

Marvin is looking to take a break and control but Spades is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Spades pushes Marvin off and gets back to his feet.
Marvin goes for a double leg but Spades avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Spades continues to drive forward.

Spades escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spades throws a head kick that misses.
Marvin tries to clinch up but Spades circles away and keeps his distance.
Marvin misses with a takedown attempt - Spades sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Spades blocks a head kick by Marvin.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Both fighters circling a little - Spades finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Spades throws a sloppy head kick and Marvin moves out of range easily.
Spades fails in his attempt to clinch.

Marvin gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Marvin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Marvin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Spades.
Spades is breathing heavily.
Spades throws a right and a left that both miss.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spades avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown by Marvin or perhaps it was just good defense by Spades which made him look bad.
Marvin digs a good body shot into Spades's ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marvin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Spades dives on top into guard.

Spades is sitting in close to Marvin's body. Marvin has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Spades is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Spades is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Marvin.
