Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eviatar Lapid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Digger DeGaetano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eviatar Lapid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Digger DeGaetano!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DeGaetano gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lapid to score an easy takedown into full guard.
DeGaetano looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lapid sitting in guard, not really doing much.
DeGaetano can't keep his opponent in guard - Lapid advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lapid decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Lapid throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. DeGaetano was covering up waiting for the punch and Lapid finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lapid is pushing down on DeGaetano's leg trying to pass to half guard. DeGaetano is fighting to maintain full guard but Lapid has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lapid throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lapid working the head and body with strikes.
Lapid working over DeGaetano with some ground and pound. DeGaetano looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Lapid content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Lapid is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lapid passes to side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Lapid has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

DeGaetano gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lapid to score an easy takedown into full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Lapid is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
DeGaetano keeping full guard, as Lapid tries to pass.
Lapid controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eviatar Lapid wasn't doing enough on the ground.

DeGaetano gets caught napping as Lapid dives in and scores a takedown. DeGaetano manages to retain guard.

Lapid is in close to DeGaetano's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Lapid advances to half guard.
Lapid slows the pace down in half guard.

Lapid wants to work for an arm triangle but DeGaetano is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lapid has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lapid is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Still in half guard, Lapid seems content to control.
Lapid is keen to just control but DeGaetano is a slippery customer.

Lapid is working for a submission of some sort.
Lapid is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lapid looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks DeGaetano with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lapid has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can DeGaetano defend it? Lapid steps over the head and cranks it - DeGaetano is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Lapid!
