PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommi Lackstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Olsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lackstrom looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Olsen is trying to stand back up but Lackstrom is controlling him
Lackstrom tries to pass the half guard into mount. Olsen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Lackstrom is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Olsen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lackstrom prevents Olsen from standing back up.
Lackstrom wants to control but Olsen is keeping him busy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Olsen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lackstrom is working for a guillotine from mount but Olsen frees his head quite easily.
Olsen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lackstrom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Olsen is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Lackstrom has hold of Olsen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Olsen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Lackstrom jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Olsen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Lackstrom tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lackstrom has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Olsen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lackstrom.

Olsen forces Lackstrom back against the cage and clinches.
Lackstrom tries to pull guard but Olsen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lackstrom is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Olsen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lackstrom has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Olsen after a bit of a struggle.

Olsen scores with a shoulder strike.
Lackstrom tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Olsen looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Lackstrom is trying to pull guard but Olsen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Olsen has a couple of punches blocked by Lackstrom.

A head punch on the inside from Lackstrom fails to land.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Olsen.
Olsen is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Lackstrom ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lackstrom no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lackstrom pulls Olsen in to control the position.
Olsen wanted to stand there but Lackstrom had control of the position.
Olsen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We've been informed that Olsen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Olsen wants to stand and escape but instead Lackstrom has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Lackstrom stops Olsen from standing up.
Lackstrom wants to control from the top but Olsen keeps moving.
Lackstrom slips nicely into half guard.

Olsen is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Olsen is refusing to be controlled, as Lackstrom sits in half guard.
Lackstrom thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Olsen's head.
Olsen tries to kick Lackstrom off but Lackstrom keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lackstrom uses his free foot to push down on Olsen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Olsen.
Olsen is breathing heavily.

Lackstrom working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Olsen looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Lackstrom! Submission of the night perhaps?
