PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kivi Kasvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kasvo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Danzig Mother. Staton has chosen Mgła- With Hearts Toward None II as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Staton darts in and clinches Kasvo up against the cage.
Kasvo lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Kasvo lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Staton wants to stall.
Kasvo prevents a body shot from Staton.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Staton works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Staton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kasvo's elbow.

Kasvo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kasvo moves away from the strike by Staton.
Staton fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kasvo.
Kasvo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kasvo misses with a looping left.

Kasvo lands an overhand right.
Staton's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kasvo under the eye.
Staton avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lee Staton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Kasvo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Staton lands with a thumping leg kick.
Staton is looking to slow Kasvo down with leg kicks.
Kasvo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Staton feints and then cracks Kasvo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kasvo down.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Staton tries to move into range but Kasvo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Kasvo lands a big shot that drops Staton! Can he finish him?
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kasvo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Staton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Staton keeping moving, preventing Kasvo from controlling successfully.

Staton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kasvo!

Staton is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kasvo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Staton lands a big shot there that rocks Kasvo but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kasvo is trying desperately to improve position.
Staton loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Kasvo scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Staton land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Staton stands and salutes the crowd.

After winning the bout, Lee Staton thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
