Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lotus Suzinuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otto Varjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Varjo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Faith No More - Be aggressive. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lotus Suzinuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzinuki throws a body punch but Varjo moves out of range.
Varjo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Suzinuki lands a jab.
Suzinuki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Suzinuki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Varjo was well out of range. Poor timing from Suzinuki.
Varjo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Varjo thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Varjo shoots in for a double leg but Suzinuki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Varjo thuds his right hand into Suzinuki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Suzinuki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Varjo as he jumps to the side.
Suzinuki fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Varjo on the side of the head.

The fight stays on the outside here - Suzinuki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The fighters circling - Suzinuki throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Varjo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Suzinuki's guard now.
Varjo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Suzinuki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Suzinuki tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Varjo defends well and Suzinuki ends up having to push Varjo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Suzinuki digs a right hand underneath Varjo's ribcage. Varjo let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Suzinuki is fighting off a takedown attempt but Varjo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Suzinuki to the mat. Suzinuki regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
