PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Dumas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dumas comes to the cage accompanied by The Writer. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexandre Dumas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jacob Koch!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Koch looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dumas thows a body shot but no joy.
Dumas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Koch's head.
Koch ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A combination from Dumas does no damage.
Koch throws a nice looking combination but Dumas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dumas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Koch swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Koch swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dumas misses with a double jab.
Koch lands with a hook. Dumas tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Dumas connects with a looping right hand.
Dumas throws out a loose jab but Koch uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dumas fails in his attempt to clinch.
Koch connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

No joy there for Dumas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alexandre Dumas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dumas throws a right hand that Koch ducks under and follows up with a left that Koch also avoids with ease.

Koch feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dumass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Koch counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dumas thinking.

Dumas has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Pitt in the buildup to the fight.
Dumas throws a series of punches but Koch moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dumas takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Koch scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Dumas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Koch on the side of the head.

Dumas clinches up with Koch and pushes him back against the cage.

Dumas tries to bum rush Koch with a series of wild strikes but Koch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dumas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Koch at a distance.

Koch ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Dumas out cold! The fight is over!

After winning the bout, Jacob Koch thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
