Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abel Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by Yeah. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abel Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Davis!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.
Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sanchez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Davis.
Davis fails with a takedown attempt.
Abel Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Davis.
Sanchez lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Davis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sanchez is fending him off so far but Davis persists. Nope, Sanchez circles away and we're back to standing.

Sanchez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Davis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sanchez asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Davis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sanchez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Davis seems a little lost for a moment, as Sanchez dominates the positioning.
Sanchez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Check out the look on Sanchez's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Sanchez is trying to get an arm triangle but Davis is defending well.
Sanchez wants to take a breather but Davis manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Sanchez.

Davis is working an open guard so Sanchez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Sanchez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Davis uses from the top position.

Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Sanchez tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sanchez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Sanchez counters with a nice uppercut.
Sanchez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Davis's head backwards.

Sanchez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Davis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Sanchez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sanchez throws an elbow that misses. Davis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sanchez's guard. Nice move by Davis!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Davis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Davis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sanchez defends well and Davis ends up having to push Sanchez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abel Sanchez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Davis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sanchez after a bit of a struggle.

Davis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ground and pound from Sanchez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sanchez creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Davis sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Abel Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Davis can't do much from the bottom here.

Sanchez tries to bum rush Davis with a series of wild strikes but Davis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sanchez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sanchez looks to land a combination. Davis sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Davis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sanchez to the mat! Sanchez manages to get full guard.

Davis wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sanchez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davis's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Davis has closed the distance and engaged Sanchez in a clinch.

Sanchez is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Davis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Davis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sanchez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Davis goes for a double leg but Sanchez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sanchez continues to drive forward.

Davis has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Sanchez regains guard immediately.

Sanchez wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.

Sanchez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Sanchez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Davis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sanchez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sanchez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Davis can do to turn this around?

Davis takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Sanchez's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
