Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason McKinney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Born Loner!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loner moves into the clinch successfully.

McKinney tightens his grip and picks Loner up, before dumping him to the ground. Loner manages to land in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McKinney looking to pass the guard.
McKinney looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Loner wants to stand and escape but McKinney is having none of it.
Loner keeping full guard, as McKinney tries to pass.

McKinney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason McKinney wasn't doing enough on the ground.

McKinney closes the distance and clinches.
McKinney is trying to force a seperation but Loner has the dominant position.
Loner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

McKinney breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Loner.

Loner lands with a short shot to the head.

Loner gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loner winds up and cracks McKinney with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Loner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Loner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Loner is keen to just control but McKinney is a slippery customer.

McKinney has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Loner tries to break the clinch but McKinney is controlling the position.

Loner manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Loner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Loner pushes McKinney off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Loner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McKinney manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

McKinney seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

McKinney jumps guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKinney is pulling down on Loner's head to control his posture.

Loner stands and steps away. McKinney gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

McKinney pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McKinney shoots for a takedown but Loner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McKinney circles away from the clinch attempt.

Loner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McKinney wants to control but Loner postures up.
Born Loner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Loner landing strikes.
Loner cracks McKinney with a big right hand but McKinney just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Loner is looking to take a break and control but McKinney is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Loner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McKinney is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Born Loner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! McKinney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Loner goes for a double leg but McKinney avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McKinney continues to drive forward.

Loner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Our spies down at at Cozad The Island inform us that Loner has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

The ref stands the fighters back up. Born Loner was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Loner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McKinney moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Loner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Loner wants to clinch up but McKinney keeps it at a distance.

McKinney ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McKinney no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McKinney is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Loner is controlling him.
McKinney wants to sweep but no luck.

Loner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Loner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McKinney's head.

Born Loner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Loner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
