Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Squid Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Falcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Squid Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam Falcon!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Francis DeMontford and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ward drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ward trying to control the action but Falcon is working from the bottom.
Falcon is looking for a sweep.
Ward tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ward swings around for an armbar but Falcon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ward's guard.

Ward is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Falcon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ward is proving hard to escape from.

Falcon postures up in Ward's guard and throws a big left but Ward blocks it.
Ward preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Ward is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Falcon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ward is desperately trying to improve his position but Falcon has a good base and remains in mount.

Ward throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Falcon was covering up waiting for the punch and Ward finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ward tries to free his leg and advance position but Falcon is retaining full guard.

Falcon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ward's best efforts.

Ward tries to pass the half guard into mount. Falcon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ward stops Falcon from getting back to his feet.
Falcon is doing well to control the position and prevent Ward from advancing to side control.
Falcon wants to control but Ward is keeping busy.
Adam Falcon has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ward is working for a kimura but Falcon is defending it quite comfortably.
Falcon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ward is working away from the top position though.
Falcon pushes Ward off looking to stand but Ward dives back in and keeps control.

Ward is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Falcon is just riding it out for now. Ward eventually gives up the hold.

Falcon has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ward has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Falcon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Falcon working the strikes but Ward uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Ward keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Even with his hooks in, Falcon manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Ward is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Falcon looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Ward is controlling Falcon 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

Ward drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ward jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Falcon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Falcon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ward looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ward tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Falcon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Falcon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ward to his feet.
Falcon lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Falcon wants to stand up but Ward is controlling the position.
Adam Falcon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Ward is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Falcon is tapping! Great win for Ward!

After winning the bout, Squid Ward thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
