The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Jurri.
Jurri fails to land with a series of punches.
Bird moves out of range of the leg kick from Jurri.
Jurri darts in and clinches Bird up against the cage.
Jurri lands a hook that snaps the head of Bird backwards.
Still in the clinch, Jurri scores with a nice short uppercut.
Jurri connects with a knee to the head.
Jurri lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A short right from Jurri.
Bird breaks the clinch.
Jurri thows a body shot but no joy.
A jab from Jurri finds it's way through Bird's defenses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick from Bird lands but Jurri takes it in his stride.
A clash of legs there as Jurri blocks the low kick.
Bird has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Bird pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jurri dips to his left and cracks Bird with an uppercut!

Jurri swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Jurri ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bird moves away.
Jurri throws a sloppy head kick and Bird moves out of range easily.
Jurri wants to slow Bird down by chopping away at his legs.
Bird has managed to clinch.
Bird drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jurri pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jurri fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Nice body punch from Jurri.
Jurri tries to clinch up but Bird circles away and keeps his distance.
Jurri lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Bird looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bird takes one to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jurri connects with a solid leg kick.
Kari Jurri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jurri scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Jurri throws a leg kick which misses Bird's front leg but catches the back leg as Bird tries to avoid it.
Jurri and Bird are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Jurri throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Bird into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Jurri knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kari Jurri!
Kari Jurri was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
