Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aapo Ik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerzy Lisiewicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lisiewicz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Duran Duran - Wild Boys. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aapo Ik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerzy Lisiewicz!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Lisiewicz misses the target.
Lisiewicz misses with a wild combination.

Lisiewicz shoots in and gets a takedown into Ik's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ik not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lisiewicz is working Ik over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ik bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lisiewicz's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lisiewicz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ik is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ik throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lisiewicz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ik in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lisiewicz wants to get back to his feet but Ik is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ik has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lisiewicz keeping moving, preventing Ik from controlling successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ik trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Ik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ik throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ik stopping the sweep attempt from Lisiewicz.
Ik throwing strikes but missing.
Ik loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Ik avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ik postures up.
Ik won't allow Lisiewicz to sweep him here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ik accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ik postures up in Lisiewicz's guard and throws a big left but Lisiewicz blocks it.
Ik working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lisiewicz's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ik with a nice head shot there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ik works over Lisiewicz with some ground and pound from guard.
Ik chips away with some ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lisiewicz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ik wants to control from the top but Lisiewicz keeps moving.
Ik working some strikes from top position.
Ik cracks Lisiewicz with a solid left hand.
Lisiewicz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ik works over Lisiewicz with some ground and pound from guard.
Lisiewicz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lisiewicz told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Ik lands a couple of digs.


Lisiewicz is rocked!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ik's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lisiewicz is still in real trouble! Can Ik finish him?
Lisiewicz looking for a sweep. Not yet Lisiewicz, not yet.
Ik is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Ik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ik is in close to Lisiewicz's body, working some short punches and elbows.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ik postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Lisiewicz covers up, he's hurt! Ik keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Ik and the ref steps in to end the fight! Ik can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aapo Ik!
