Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patrick Bateman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Polish!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polish is looking to clinch but Bateman is avoiding it.
Polish wants to clinch.

Bateman moves into range and clinches up with Polish.

Bateman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bateman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bateman lands in his opponent's guard.
Bateman prevents Polish from getting back to his feet.
Polish has Bateman pulled in close to control his posture.
Bateman trying to control the position from guard on top but Polish is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bateman is fighting to break Polish's control of his arms but Polish is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Polish trying to keep a closed guard but Bateman is proving a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Polish hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bateman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Polish to the ground. Bateman is now in Polish's guard.

Polish wants to control but Bateman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Polish tries to kick Bateman off but Bateman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Polish wants to improve his position but Bateman is controlling well.

Polish pulls Bateman in close to prevent any damage.

Bateman is pushing down on Polish's leg trying to pass to half guard. Polish is fighting to maintain full guard but Bateman has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bateman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Polish has managed to free his arm - good work.
Polish wants to control but Bateman passes into side.
Polish wants to control but Bateman postures up.

Polish is trying to buck Bateman off.
Polish tries to bench press Bateman off him but Bateman keeps the position.
Bateman is looking to take a break and control but Polish is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've been informed that Polish has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Polish is trying to buck Bateman off.

That was a close round but I would say that Patrick Bateman will probably get the nod.

Polish throws a head kick that Bateman semi-blocks.
James Polish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Polish rushes Bateman and presses him up against the cage.

Bateman works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Bateman trying to control the position from guard on top but Polish is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bateman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bateman's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bateman wants to control from the top but Polish keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Polish wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Bateman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Polish wants to get back to his feet but Bateman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bateman drops back looking for a leg! Polish is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Polish manages to kick Bateman off! Bateman jumps back into Polish's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bateman.
Polish pushes Bateman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bateman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Polish manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bateman's best efforts.

Patrick Bateman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Patrick Bateman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
You can see the frustration on Bateman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

I would just about give that final round to James Polish.
