Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Severart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Severart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Damian Maia!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Maia goes for a double leg but Severart avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Severart continues to drive forward.

Severart gets control of Maia's arms and successfully pulls guard. Severart will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Severart will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Severart manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Maia shoots in but no luck this time.

Severart cracks Maia with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Severart lands a two punch combo.
Severart shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Maia eats them both and turns towards Severart to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maia gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Maia shoots in for a takedown but Severart shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Maia takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Maia shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Severart cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Maia is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Severart throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Severart counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Maia looks winded!
Maia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Severart as he avoids it easily.
Severart connects with a body shot that sends Maia's belly button to the back.
Severart lands a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Severart cracks Maia with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Severart lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Severart finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head.
Maia is trying desperately to land a takedown but Severart is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Maia.

Jake Severart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maia drops his hands momentarily and Severart takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Severart connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Maia tumbling to the canvas! Severart pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Maia was done - good stoppage!
