Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mayo Kermode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Avalon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Avalon has chosen Harder Better Faster - Daft Punk as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kermode ducks under a wild hook from Avalon.
Kermode throws an off balance right hand
and Avalon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
An inside leg kick lands from Kermode.
Avalon blocks a low kick nicely.
Kermode fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Avalon, pushing him back against the cage.
Avalon stalling in the clinch but Kermode improves position.
Kermode lands a good knee to the midsection. Avalon won't want to take too many of those.
Kermode misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Avalon.
I was talking to Kermode's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kermode swings wildly with an uppercut but Avalon uses good head movement to avoid it.

Avalon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kermode moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Kermode counters by moving into the clinch.
Avalon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kermode just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kermode throws a knee to the head but misses.

Avalon pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kermode is out of range and Avalon settles back down.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mayo Kermode will probably get the nod.

Avalon gets control of Kermode's arms and successfully pulls guard. Avalon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kermode slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
