And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derec Negreanu!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negreanu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Season. Season circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Negreanu shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Season eats them both and turns towards Negreanu to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Negreanu dips to his left and cracks Season with an uppercut!
Negreanu leaves Season with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Season fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice sprawl there from Negreanu as Season shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Season. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Negreanu misses with a two punch combination.
Negreanu lands a nice looking body shot.
Negreanu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Season goes for a double leg but Negreanu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Negreanu continues to drive forward.
Negreanu lands a right hand that snaps the head of Season backwards.

Negreanu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Negreanu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


It looks like Peter Season has been cut.
Season shoots for a double leg takedown but Negreanu sprawls well. He's pushed Season's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Negreanu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Negreanu throws a right hand that Season ducks under and follows up with a left that Season also avoids with ease.
Season walks into a straight right hand from Negreanu.
Season fails with the takedown
and Negreanu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Negreanu lands with a good body shot.
Negreanu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Season. Season circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Season. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Negreanu drops Season with a beautiful combination! Season stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Negreanu is looking for the KO!


Season is rocked!
Negreanu tries to bum rush Season with a series of wild strikes but Season uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Negreanu scores with a shot to the body.
Season is breathing heavily.
Negreanu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Season looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Negreanu lands with a nice body punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Negreanu smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Derec Negreanu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Negreanu lands a big uppercut and Season crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Season looks OK. Negreanu waves Season back to his feet!

Negreanu cracks Season with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Season looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Negreanu finish him?
Oh Season is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Negreanu feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Season crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Derec Negreanu!
A victorious Derec Negreanu thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Peter Season was interviewed post fight and said 'Derec Negreanu, he was a tough dude to beat. He was the better man tonight, and I will look to make some improvements. The good thing about losing is you'll learn from it. Good job Derec Negreanu!'.
