Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dario Sakara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Chaney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakara comes to the cage accompanied by I'm On My Way. James Chaney is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakara scores with a three punch combo!
Chaney shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakara sprawls well. He's pushed Chaney's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sakara definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Sakara throws a combination. Chaney tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like James Chaney has been cut.

Sakara connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Sakara displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chaney.

Chaney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Chaney shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakara sprawls well. He's pushed Chaney's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sakara ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chaney moves away.

Chaney takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Chaney closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sakara did well to prevent Chaney getting side control.

Sakara is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chaney pulls his head out easily.

Chaney throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sakara connects with the punch.

Chaney moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Sakara lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chaney.
Dario Sakara is winning the standup battle so far.
Sakara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Chaney stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sakara swats away the attempt to clinch by Chaney.
A left and a right from Chaney both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Dario Sakara has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chaney keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sakara throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chaney on the side of the head.
Sakara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chaney shoots for a takedown but Sakara saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sakara goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Sakara lands a nice hook to Chaney's body. Chaney takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Sakara gets caught flat footed, as Chaney shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Chaney decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sakara, up you get!

Chaney shoots for a takedown but Sakara saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Chaney remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Chaney takes a little break here. Sakara wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Chaney wasn't active enough on the ground.

Sakara throws a right hand that Chaney ducks under and follows up with a left that Chaney also avoids with ease.

Sakara feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Chaneys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chaney tries to clinch up but Sakara circles away and keeps his distance.

Chaney takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but James Chaney will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
