The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira tries to close the distance and clinch up but Howard swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Howard is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Oliveira is hurt! He's hurt bad - Howard fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Oliveira from any more punishment! Congratulations to Howard! Great finish!
