Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think George might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Iron Maiden - The longest day. Barbosa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eye of the tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Barbosa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Barbosa content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Barbosa wants to advance to full mount but George doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

George wants to stand up but Barbosa is controlling him.
Igor Barbosa has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Barbosa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
George misses the jab.
Barbosa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Barbosa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. George sprawls well initially but Barbosa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Barbosa is looking to advance position but George won't allow it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

George has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
George is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Barbosa.
Barbosa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

George has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee asks Barbosa politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Barbosa prefers to stall for the moment though.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Igor Barbosa wasn't active enough on the ground.
Barbosa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

George has one foot on Barbosa's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Barbosa scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
George is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Barbosa asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Barbosa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. George swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Aaron George wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
George throws a big shot that misses.
A momentary lapse in concentration from George enables Barbosa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. George manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barbosa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Let's hope that Barbosa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Igor Barbosa hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
George swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Aaron George is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barbosa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches George napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Barbosa content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Barbosa prevents George from escaping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Igor Barbosa is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Igor Barbosa was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Barbosa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that's the end of the fight!
Igor Barbosa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Barbosa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
