Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Uri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Brecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brecht has chosen Dropkick Murphys - Warriors Code as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uri keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Brecht does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Uri closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brecht to the mat! Brecht manages to get full guard.
Uri tries to free his leg and advance position but Brecht is retaining full guard.

Uri drops back looking for a leg! Brecht is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brecht manages to kick Uri off! Uri jumps back into Brecht's guard.

Brecht looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Uri postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brecht is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Uri, into his guard.

Brecht works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Brecht is trying to control the action in half guard but Uri is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Uri moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Brecht drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brecht jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Uri escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brecht gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Uri is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Uri is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Uri throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Uri has momentary wrist control but Brecht slips an elbow through the middle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brecht passes Uri's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Brecht prevents Uri from improving his position.
Uri has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brecht is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Brecht wants to clinch up but Uri keeps it at a distance.

Uri changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brecht looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Uri wants to control but Brecht is keeping him busy.

Uri has an Americana. Brecht didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Uri is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Uri hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
