Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chip Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chip Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Davis!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Lee, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Lee against the cage but Lee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Davis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Davis wants a takedown.
Lee lands a body punch in the clinch.

Davis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lee has Davis up against the cage in a clinch.

Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Davis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lee counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Chip Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Davis.
Lee throws a right and a left that Davis avoids nicely.
Nice body punch from Lee.

Davis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lee wants to hold on but Davis pushes him away.
Davis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lee is desperately trying to improve his position but Davis has a good base and remains in mount.

Lee tries to hold on but Davis postures up.
Davis thowing shots but they're missing.
Davis controlling the pace for now.
Davis wants to control the pace but Lee is squirming around nicely.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Greg Davis.
Lee lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Lee closes the distance and clinches.

Lee gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Lee perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Davis for as long as he can get away with.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lee wants to take a breather but Davis is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chip Lee wasn't doing enough on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee throws a right hand that Davis ducks under and follows up with a left that Davis also avoids with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chip Lee will probably get the nod.

Davis shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lee as he jumps to the side.

Lee works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A short body shot lands from Lee as the two fighters clinch.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Davis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Davis wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
Lee looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Lee is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Davis is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully.

Lee is wriggling around but Davis manages to pass to half guard.
Lee is trying to stand back up but Davis is controlling him
Davis tries to pass to full mount but Lee defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy.
Davis is pressing down on Lee's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lee is holding on for now.

Davis is keen to just control but Lee is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Greg Davis.
Lee fails in his attempt to clinch.
A lazy left from Lee finds it's target.

Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Davis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lee to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lee avoids it really well and circles away.
Lee connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Lee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lee tries to clinch up but Davis circles away and keeps his distance.
Lee looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Davis takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Davis is still on wobbly legs! Can Lee finish him?
Davis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away.
Davis seems to have recovered his senses.
Davis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sloppy strikes from Lee. Those never looked like landing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lee enables Davis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lee manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Davis engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Davis wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
Davis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Davis postures up.
Lee wants to get back to his feet but Davis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lee seems keen to control Davis's posture.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chip Lee just wasn't active enough.
Lee looks to land a combination but Davis avoids it well.

Davis gets the takedown into side control.
Davis takes a little break here. Lee wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Chip Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Greg Davis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lee stuffs the takedown attempt from Davis. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.

Lee scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Davis doesn't seem bothered though.
Lee throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Davis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Davis moves out of range easily.

Davis has Lee pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lee manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Lee breaks the clinch.
Lee connects with a body shot that sends Davis's belly button to the back.
Lee cracks a nice hook into Davis's ribs.

Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A shot to the liver by Lee. Beautiful body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lee's waist but Lee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.
Lee throws a one two combo.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Lee has taken the fight to the clinch.
Greg Davis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Chip Lee showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
