The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marin has closed the distance and engaged Milliwan in a clinch.
Milliwan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Milliwan is looking to control Marin's arms but Marin gets an underhook and turns him. Now Milliwan has his back to the cage.
Milliwan can't break the clinch.

Marin is really struggling to control Milliwan but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Milliwan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We're going to have a standup here because Cheech Marin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Marin attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Milliwan shoots in looking for a takedown but Marin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Milliwan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Milliwan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marin is fending him off so far but Milliwan persists. Nope, Marin circles away and we're back to standing.
Cheech Marin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Milliwan.

Marin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Milliwan is just riding it out for now. Marin eventually gives up the hold.

Cheech Marin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Marin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Milliwan wants to control but Marin is having none of it.
