Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Milliwan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lance Milliwan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brendan Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lance Milliwan!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell lands a really nice looking cross but Milliwan seems unphased.
Bell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Milliwan moves to clinch but Bell breaks away

and Bell counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Milliwan!

Bell tries to advance to mount but Milliwan denies him.
Bell just content to control the position.
Milliwan gets back to half guard.
Bell wants to take a breather but Milliwan is having none of it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Milliwan manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Bell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Milliwan but Milliwan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Milliwan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Milliwan is in Bell's guard.
Milliwan stands up over Bell, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Milliwan postures up in Bell's guard and throws a big left but Bell blocks it.
Bell wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Milliwan postures up.
Bell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Milliwan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bell wants to stand up but Milliwan is controlling him.
Bell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Milliwan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Bell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Milliwan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Milliwan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Milliwan on the ground.
Bell is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Milliwan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bell, up you get!
Bell misses with a jab, cross combination.

Milliwan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bell, pushing him back against the cage.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Milliwan misses with an elbow strike.
Milliwan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bell fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck for Milliwan with that takedown attempt.
Milliwan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bell's waist but Bell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Milliwan off to one side.
Brendan Bell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Milliwan.

Bell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Milliwan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Milliwan tries for a kimura but Bell is defending well.
Bell is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Milliwan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bell sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Milliwan in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Bell tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Bell is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lance Milliwan dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Milliwan shoots in for a takedown but Bell shows good takedown defense.
Bell shoots in looking for a takedown but Milliwan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Brendan Bell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bell has managed to clinch.
Bell tries to pull guard but Milliwan holds him up against the cage and eventually Bell drops back down to his feet.

Oh but Milliwan is tightening it up a little... Bell has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bell reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bell taps out! Nice BJJ there by Milliwan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Lance Milliwan!
