PBP Commentary

Crunch has chosen Replica as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kendrick Bowens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Crunch!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bowens closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bowens tries to advance to mount but can't.
Crunch tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Bowens thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bowens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crunch keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Crunch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bowens trying to control the action but Crunch is working from the bottom.
Crunch is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bowens asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Crunch should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Bowens wants to control but Crunch is keeping him busy.

Bowens is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Crunch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Crunch trying to control but Bowens flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bowens is working for a rear naked choke. Crunch is not defending it well and Bowens has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Crunch refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Crunch's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kendrick Bowens!
