The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vickers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vickers has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Noffsinger stalling against the cage.
Noffsinger misses with a punch on the inside.
Vickers tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Vickers is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Noffsinger is defending well for now.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Vickers.
Noffsinger swings wildly with an uppercut but Vickers uses good head movement to avoid it.

Vickers digs a right hand into Noffsinger's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Noffsinger's gas tank.
Noffsinger is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vickers pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Noffsinger has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vickers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Vickers throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Noffsinger blocks it with crossed arms.

Noffsinger swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Vickers using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Noffsinger has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Noffsinger turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Noffsinger manages to end up in side control.
You can see the frustration on Vickers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Noffsinger throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Vickers regains half guard.
Vickers is looking for a sweep. Noffsinger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vickers is desperately trying to improve his position but Noffsinger has a good base and remains in mount.

Noffsinger is trying to control the action in half guard but Vickers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Vickers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Vickers wants to hit a switch here but Noffsinger passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Vickers there!
Noffsinger is landing with some decent strikes but Vickers is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Vickers is in a horrible position here. Noffsinger smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Vickers is rocked!
Vickers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Vickers is still in real trouble! Can Noffsinger finish him?
Noffsinger raining down shots from the mount!
Noffsinger pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noffsinger circles away from the clinch attempt.
Noffsinger throws a looping overhand right but Vickers ducks down to avoid it.
Vickers misses with a series of wild punches.
Noffsinger grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Vickers takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Noffsinger cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

After winning the bout, Percival Noffsinger thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
