Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dale McCann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barristan Selmy!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCann closes the distance and clinches.
McCann gets underhooks to prevent Selmy's takedown attempt.
McCann wants to take the fight to the mat but Selmy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
McCann using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Selmy has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
McCann tries to land a knee to the head but Selmy blocks with his arms.
McCann tries to break free but Selmy pushes him back against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. McCann obliges.
McCann tries a knee to the head but Selmy blocks it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCann gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Selmy.
McCann tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
McCann tries to score a body lock takedown but Selmy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
McCann tries a knee to the head but Selmy blocks it.
McCann lands a nice elbow.
McCann has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Selmy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dale McCann. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCann throws a knee to the head but misses.
Selmy has McCann pressed against the cage, preventing McCann from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
McCann is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
McCann tries to land a knee to the head but Selmy blocks with his arms.
McCann wants to stall.
Selmy stops a takedown attempt from McCann.
Selmy drops down looking for an ankle pick but McCann pulls his leg out and moves away.

Selmy shoots in and gets a takedown into McCann's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCann wants to control the position but Selmy says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Selmy throwing shots but McCann is blocking nicely.
Selmy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Well, if Selmy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
McCann tries to get to full guard but Selmy has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Selmy wants to pass the guard but McCann is defending well.
Selmy missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A combination from McCann does no damage.
McCann has a takedown stuffed.

Selmy gets a double leg takedown into McCann's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Selmy is standing up over McCann. McCann looks to escape but Selmy dives into side control.
McCann wants to get back to his feet.

Selmy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Selmy advances to full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dale McCann will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Selmy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McCann did well to prevent Selmy getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Selmy prevents McCann from standing back up.
Selmy working the head and body with strikes.
McCann is trying to control but Selmy manages to pass to mount!
Selmy lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McCann hang on?
Selmy drops a big elbow. That's hurt McCann! More shots from Selmy and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barristan Selmy!
An out of breath Barristan Selmy thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
