Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blue Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kwetiau Apeng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Apeng, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Apeng against the cage but Apeng circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Apeng fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Apeng is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smith sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Apeng takes the fight into the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Apeng.
Smith drops down looking for an ankle pick but Apeng pulls his leg out and moves away.
Apeng looks to land a combination. Smith sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Apeng shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Apeng's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Apeng throws a head kick that Smith semi-blocks.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Apeng sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Apeng shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.

and Apeng moves into the clinch.
Apeng is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Smith pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Smith is pressed up against the cage. Apeng has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smith down to the mat. Smith avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Apeng shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Apeng.
Apeng lands a head kick. Smith smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Apeng throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Apeng jumps guard and drags Smith to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Apeng has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Smith off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Smith leaves Apeng with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Apeng throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Smith tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Apeng is in Smith's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Apeng controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
