Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aamer Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Entoni Shmetis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Aamer Khan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Aamer Khan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Entoni Shmetis!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shmetis tries for a takedown but Khan circles away easily
and Khan counters by moving into the clinch.
Khan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shmetis is defending well for now.
Khan stalls.
Khan gets control of Shmetis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Khan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Shmetis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shmetis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Shmetis trying to control but Khan is working from the bottom.
Khan pulls Shmetis in close to prevent any damage.
Shmetis wants to control from the top but Khan keeps moving.
Shmetis tries to free his leg and advance position but Khan is retaining full guard.

Khan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Khan tries to get out of the position.
Entoni Shmetis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Shmetis shoots in looking for a takedown but Khan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shmetis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
No luck for Shmetis with that takedown attempt.
Aamer Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Entoni Shmetis.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Aamer Khan.
Shmetis goes for a double leg but Khan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Khan continues to drive forward.
Shmetis tries to break the clinch but Khan is controlling the position.
Shmetis is trying to drag Khan to the mat but Khan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Khan pulls guard effortlessly.
Shmetis wants to control from the top but Khan keeps moving.
Khan is trying to control the position but Shmetis postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Entoni Shmetis wasn't active enough on the ground.
Shmetis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Khan finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Entoni Shmetis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Khan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Khan is in trouble now - Shmetis has advanced to mount!
Khan tries to hold on but Shmetis pushes him away.
Shmetis wants to control the pace but Khan is squirming around nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shmetis is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Khan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Shmetis is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Shmetis extends the arm and Khan is forced to tap!
