Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Courtney Upshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abraham Safforn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Upshaw comes to the cage accompanied by Retaliation. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Courtney Upshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abraham Safforn!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Safforn fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Upshaw misses with an uppercut.
Upshaw drops his hands momentarily and Safforn takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
It looks like Courtney Upshaw has been cut.
A head kick from Upshaw lands but Safforn takes it in his stride.
It looks like Abraham Safforn has been cut.
Safforn buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Upshaw keeps the fight on the outside.
Safforn rushes Upshaw and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Safforn takes a shot to the head.
A right handed body shot lands from Safforn.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Safforn has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A nice left hand lands by Safforn.
Upshaw blocking some punches.
Safforn lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Safforn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No joy there for Upshaw, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Upshaw takes one on the chin but seems OK.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice body kick from Safforn.
Upshaw takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Upshaw is breathing heavily.
Upshaw gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Safforn buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Safforn digs a good body shot into Upshaw's ribs.
Safforn is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Upshaw takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Upshaw is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Courtney Upshaw's cut is getting worse.
Safforn turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Upshaw on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Courtney Upshaw's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Upshaw misses with a lunging right hand
and Safforn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Upshaw won't be happy with that.
Upshaw is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Safforn creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Upshaw sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Safforn scoring with punches and elbows.
Safforn grinds an elbow into Upshaw's temple.
Jeez, Courtney Upshaw's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Courtney Upshaw's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Abraham Safforn!
During a confident post fight interview, Abraham Safforn thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
