Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocket Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a quick inside leg kick.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Man swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Man swings away with a leg kick that misses.
James tries to clinch up but Man circles away and keeps his distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
James blocks a head kick by Man.
Man pulls out of a head kick attempt.
James tries to clinch up but Man circles away and keeps his distance.
Man blocks the body kick.
Man throws a head kick that misses.
Man misses with a head kick.
Man misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and James holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Man swats him away and circles back towards the center.

James manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Man blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Man tries to pull guard but James won't allow it.

Man connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed James momentarily.
James tries to close the distance and clinch but Man swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Man fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt James.

Man wants to get back to his feet but James passes into half guard.

James is figuring out what he wants to do next.
James's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Man on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Man tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

James decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
A leg kick checked by Man.
Man swings and misses with a hook to the body.
James moves in looking to clinch but Man pushes him off.
James misses with a head kick.
Man takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
James is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A head kick by Man misses
and James counters with a low kick, right behind Man 's knee.
James moves in looking to clinch but Man pushes him off.
James thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Man if he has to take too many more of those.
Man swats away the attempt to clinch by James.

and Man cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

James clinches up with Man and pushes him back against the cage.

Rusty James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
