And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Gordon throws a series of punches but Thompson avoids them all with ease.
Thompson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gordon backs up against the cage.
Gordon takes one on the button.
Gordon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gordon lands in his opponent's guard.
Thompson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Thompson keeping moving, preventing Gordon from controlling successfully.
Gordon is working Thompson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Gordon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gordon stops Thompson from standing up.
Thompson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Gordon is trying to control the action in half guard but Thompson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Gordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gordon won't allow Thompson to get back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gordon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Thompson wants to control but Gordon passes easily into half guard.
Gordon is trying to work for a kimura but Thompson is defending well.
Gordon is looking to take a break and control but Thompson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gordon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thompson sees it coming and defends easily.

Gordon with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Thompson won't allow Gordon to pass to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gordon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Thompson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Thompson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Gordon manages to mount him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson is trying to stand.
Thompson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Gordon looking to ground and pound but Thompson is blocking nicely.
Thompson tries to hold on but Gordon postures up.
Gordon controlling his opponent.
Thompson is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gordon locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Thompson is forced to tap!
