Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Henderson Cormier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clifton Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes throws a head kick that misses.
Cormier shoots and misses
and Barnes counters with an outside leg kick.
Barnes throws a solid leg kick but Cormier takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Barnes.
Barnes's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Barnes duly obliges.


It looks like Henderson Cormier has been cut.
Barnes misses with a straight left.
Barnes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barnes wants it to stay on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cormier shoots in and drives through. Barnes sprawls well.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Cormier. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Barnes is looking to score with low kicks.
Cormier avoids the head kick by Barnes.

Barnes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cormier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barnes.
Cormier gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Barnes.
Barnes connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Cormier shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barnes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Barnes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cormier's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Cormier has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Barnes wants to control from the top but Cormier keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cormier wants to sweep but no luck.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Clifton Barnes.
Cormier shoots in for a double leg but Barnes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Clifton Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cormier is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barnes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barnes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Barnes has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Cormier with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Barnes to score with a decent uppercut.

Barnes lands a really nice looking cross but Cormier seems unphased.
Cormier shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nice takedown defense from Barnes. No joy for Cormier on that attempt.

Barnes changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Barnes fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Barnes darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Barnes tests Cormier's chin there with a solid looking shot.


Cormier is rocked!
Cormier fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Barnes sends Cormier crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Barnes is motioning to the referee to let Cormier up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Cormier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Cormier fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barnes avoids it really well and circles away.
Cormier seems to have got his legs back now.
BOOM! Barnes lands a beautiful left hook that drops Cormier. Cormier tries to recover but Barnes is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Cormier lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clifton Barnes!
During a confident post fight interview, Clifton Barnes thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
