Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Irenicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston McCall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irenicus comes to the cage accompanied by Shadows of Amn. McCall is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Parkway Drive - Sleepwalker. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCall throws a lazy head kick

and Irenicus counters by moving into the clinch.
Irenicus softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
McCall scores with a hook to the body.
Irenicus misses with a punch on the inside.
Irenicus blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Irenicus tries a body shot but McCall blocks it.
Irenicus can't find room to land a body shot as McCall controls the action.

McCall breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McCall steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Irenicus. That one must have hurt.

Irenicus shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

McCall uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Irenicus.

Irenicus fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McCall, pushing him back against the cage.
Irenicus has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
McCall lands an uppercut.
McCall tries to work over Irenicus's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Irenicus throws a head punch that misses.

McCall blocking some punches.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

McCall has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Irenicus seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if McCall can turn it around.

Irenicus is trying to maintain a safe position but McCall gets an underhook and turns Irenicus into the cage.

McCall lands with a right to the head.

Irenicus misses with a punch to the body.

McCall is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Irenicus can't fight it off and eventually McCall manages to take the fight to the floor. Irenicus looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Irenicus is on top in guard.

McCall can't keep his opponent in guard - Irenicus advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Irenicus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McCall does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Irenicus moves into full mount! McCall won't be happy about that!
McCall is looking to improve his position but Irenicus isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McCall manages to regain half guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Irenicus dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Irenicus cracks McCall with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Irenicus keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Irenicus throws a lazy right hand but McCall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McCall has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McCall there as he acknowledges the shot.

Irenicus connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Irenicus thuds his shin into the meat of McCall's side.
McCall swings widly with a right hand
and as McCall loses concentration momentarily, Irenicus counters with a picture perfect head kick! McCall goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!
