The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Louis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gamboa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Joe Louis has been cut.

and Gamboa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gamboa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Gamboa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gamboa is looking to take a break and control but Louis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gamboa tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Gamboa cracks Louis with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Gamboa immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Louis is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Gamboa!

Anastasio Gamboa really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Damnfield clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
