PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evan Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: no love. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evan Oliver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bryan Harris!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oliver swivels and escapes.
Oliver avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Harris tries to clinch up but Oliver circles away and keeps his distance.
Oliver fails in his attempt to clinch.
Oliver fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oliver really is a fat lump.
Oliver fails with a takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Oliver enables Harris to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Oliver manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Oliver seems keen to control Harris's posture.
Oliver looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Harris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Oliver is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Harris throws out a leg kick but Oliver moves out of range and Harris only half commits.
Oliver shoots in looking for a takedown but Harris manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oliver's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Harris goes for a double leg but Oliver avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Oliver continues to drive forward.

Oliver is trying to drag Harris to the mat but Harris just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Oliver is looking to control Harris's arms but Harris gets an underhook and turns him. Now Oliver has his back to the cage.

Oliver breaks from the clinch.
Harris throws a combination. Oliver tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Evan Oliver has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Harris dives in for a single leg takedown but Oliver sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Oliver lands an elbow that stopped Harris in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Bryan Harris has been cut.

Oliver breaks from the clinch.

Oliver fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Harris, pushing him back against the cage.
Oliver goes for a takedown in the clinch but Harris prevents it.
Oliver can't get the takedown.

Oliver pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oliver tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harris defends well and Oliver ends up having to push Harris into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Oliver is breathing heavily.
Harris is trying to break the clinch but Oliver is controlling him.
Oliver jumps guard but Harris turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Harris drags the fight down to the ground.
Oliver might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Harris lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Oliver!

Oliver is squirming around, avoiding Harris's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Harris is looking to control Oliver's arms but Oliver gets an underhook and turns him. Now Harris has his back to the cage.
Oliver unloads a knee to the mid-section. Harris lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oliver has Harris pressed against the cage, preventing Harris from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Oliver looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Harris is fending him off so far but Oliver persists. Nope, Harris circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Evan Oliver will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Oliver moves out of range of the body kick.

and Oliver counters with a low kick, right behind Harris 's knee.
Harris shoots for a takedown but Oliver saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Oliver closes the distance and clinches up with Harris, looking for a takedown. Oliver pushes Harris against the cage but Harris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Harris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oliver is looking to take a break and control but Harris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Evan Oliver showed his dominance in that final round.
