Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlos Kondiitti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kondiitti has chosen Kuningas Pähkinä & Setä Tamu - Hei Scully as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Burns!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karlos Kondiitti!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Burns showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kondiitti is trying to get back to full guard.
Kondiitti trying to hold on to Burns's head to control him but Burns postures up.
Kondiitti is looking for a sweep. Burns is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Kondiitti has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burns is working away from the top position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Danny Burns just wasn't active enough.
Kondiitti takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Kondiitti has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Burns is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Burns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kondiitti was well out of range. Poor timing from Burns.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Danny Burns.
Burns misses the shot to the body.
Good leg kick by Burns there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Burns lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Burns throws a nice looking combination but Kondiitti bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Burns looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kondiitti!

Burns seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kondiitti for as long as he can get away with.

Burns is looking to work his way around to Kondiitti's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Burns's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kondiitti wants to hold on but Burns pushes him away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burns prevents Kondiitti from getting the reversal.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burns sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Kondiitti is looking to improve his position but Burns isn't that keen on the idea.
Burns tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Burns closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kondiitti to the mat! Kondiitti manages to get full guard.
Kondiitti lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Burns!
Kondiitti can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burns is looking to escape.
Burns is looking to get to half guard.
Burns holds on for dear life, controlling Kondiitti's posture momentarily.
Burns wants to hold on but Kondiitti pushes him away.

Burns is working to get back to half guard.

Burns defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kondiitti.
Burns is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kondiitti is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Burns has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Burns!

Kondiitti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burns can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kondiitti is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Burns is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Danny Burns has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kondiitti moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Burns is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kondiitti's half guard.

Burns is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Danny Burns has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Burns feints and then cracks Kondiitti's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kondiitti down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kondiitti throws a leg kick but Burns moved away.
Kondiitti throws a low kick but Burns avoids it.
Burns misses with a two punch combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Burns shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kondiitti's guard.
Burns looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Burns dominated that second round.
That's time! Burns's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Burns jabs Kondiitti right on the nose. Kondiitti blinks but takes it well.
Burns lands a head shot.
A bone on bone clash there as Burns blocks the leg kick.
Burns throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kondiitti misses with a leg kick.
Burns throws a looping overhand right but Kondiitti ducks down to avoid it.
Burns darts in looking for a takedown but Kondiitti gets double underhooks and turns Burns into the cage.
Kondiitti tries to land knees in the clinch but Burns avoids the damage to the body.
Kondiitti goes for a takedown attempt but Burns pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Burns misses the shot to the body.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Burns here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Burns drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Burns is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kondiitti can do to turn this around?
Burns has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kondiitti!
Burns takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kondiitti tries to lock up and control but Burns gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kondiitti is trying to reverse the position but instead Burns has taken his back - oops!

Burns has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Kondiitti is defending well but eventually Burns manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Kondiitti has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Danny Burns!
