Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frederick Barbarossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Hagen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frederick Barbarossa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tom Hagen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Frederick Barbarossa!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Hagen!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbarossa is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Hagen drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hagen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hagen wants to pass the guard but Barbarossa is defending well.
Hagen throwing shots but Barbarossa is blocking nicely.

Hagen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barbarossa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hagen.
Hagen is looking to advance position but Barbarossa won't allow it.
Barbarossa's coaches at Rift Fighting Academy have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Hagen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Barbarossa sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hagen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hagen working over Barbarossa with some ground and pound. Barbarossa looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hagen is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hagen lands with some strikes.
Hagen is landing with some decent strikes but Barbarossa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hagen is working for a guillotine from mount but Barbarossa frees his head quite easily.
Hagen thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hagen with the ground and pound from mount.

Hagen goes for an armbar but Barbarossa turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Barbarossa.
Hagen has his hands on Barbarossa's head, controlling the position.
Hagen has a closed guard, preventing Barbarossa from standing up.
Hagen is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barbarossa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barbarossa missing with a left hand there. Hagen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Frederick Barbarossa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hagen fails with a takedown attempt.
Hagen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Barbarossa lands a jab-cross combination.
Barbarossa missing with a left hand there. Hagen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Barbarossa leaves Hagen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Barbarossa uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hagen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barbarossa's waist but Barbarossa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hagen off to one side.
Frederick Barbarossa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Hagen.
Hagen takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barbarossa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Barbarossa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hagen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hagen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hagen wants to pass the guard but Barbarossa is keeping the position.
Hagen with a flurry of punches that miss.
Barbarossa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hagen on the ground.

Hagen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barbarossa manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hagen has Barbarossa in his guard.
Hagen is pulling down on Barbarossa's head to control his posture.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hagen has a closed guard, preventing Barbarossa from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Hagen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Hagen tries to clinch but Barbarossa is having none of it.
Hagen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barbarossa avoids it really well and circles away.
Barbarossa keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hagen takes one to the side of the head.
Barbarossa throws a body kick that misses.
Barbarossa changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Barbarossa throws a series of punches but Hagen moves out of range.
Barbarossa tries to land a front kick but Hagen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hagen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Barbarossa bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hagen's head backwards.

Hagen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barbarossa as he jumps to the side.
Frederick Barbarossa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Hagen.
Barbarossa cracks Hagen with an open hand slap.
Hagen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Barbarossa slaps away a takedown attempt from Hagen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Frederick Barbarossa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barbarossa connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hagen's hands.
Barbarossa is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hagen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Hagen shoots in and drives through. Barbarossa sprawls well.
Hagen is breathing heavily.
Barbarossa scores with a jab to the body.

Barbarossa drops Hagen with a beautiful combination! Hagen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Barbarossa is looking for the KO!


Hagen is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barbarossa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hagen is still on wobbly legs! Can Barbarossa finish him?
Hagen shoots in and drives through. Barbarossa sprawls well.
Hagen get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Hagen stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Barbarossa runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frederick Barbarossa!
