Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zebuszko Zebek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Zebek counters with a left and a right that stings Mendoza.

Zebek closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mendoza's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mendoza has control of Zebek's left arm, preventing Zebek from doing any damage.
Mendoza is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mendoza is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Mendoza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Zebek's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Zebek swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Mendoza closes the distance but Zebek moves to the side
and Zebek counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A combination from Zebek does no damage.

Zebek shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Zebek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendoza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mendoza is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mendoza is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Zebek has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Zebek throws an elbow but Mendoza slips to the side and avoids it well.
You can see the frustration on Mendoza's face as Zebek controls the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mendoza looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mendoza takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Zebek shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mendoza's guard.

Zebek slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mendoza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zebek can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Zebek closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mendoza to the mat! Mendoza manages to get full guard.

Mendoza isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zebek stacks Mendoza on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zebek!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Zebek remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well Zebek has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
