Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Liften Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thompson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Here comes the boom. Ben Liften Jr will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson keeps the fight on the outside.
Thompson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Liften Jr sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Thompson.

Thompson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liften Jr, who protects the arm well.
Thompson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Liften Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thompson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Liften Jr is pushing Thompson's head away, looking to escape. Thompson manages to hold on to the position though.
Thompson works to advance to full mount. Liften Jr defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Thompson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thompson throws some wild stikes that Liften Jr manages to avoid easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Thompson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Thompson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Liften Jr is surviving well by controlling Thompson's body position as best he can.

Thompson has control of Liften Jr's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Liften Jr regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Thompson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Liften Jr is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Liften Jr flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Thompson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Liften Jr and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Thompson slips an arm under Liften Jr chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Thompson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Thompson is squeezing on Liften Jr like an anaconda would it's prey. Liften Jr fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

John Thompson bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
