PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spike Zander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Island Jigster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Spike Zander has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Spike Zander seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zander throws a lazy right hand but Jigster sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sloppy strikes from Jigster. Those never looked like landing.
Jigster slips a jab and a cross from Zander.
Zander misses with a hook. Jigster ducked under it nicely.
No joy there for Zander, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Horrible takedown by Jigster or perhaps it was just good defense by Zander which made him look bad.
Zander throws an overhand right that lands on Jigster's shoulder, as Jigster tries to avoid the shot.
Jigster on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Zander swinging wildly here.
Jigster staying out of range there.
Zander scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A good leg kick by Jigster.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zander has managed to clinch.

Zander lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Zander escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spike Zander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zander throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zander misses with a double jab.
Zander lands with an overhand left.
Jigster moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Zander lands a nice looking body shot.
Zander misses with a jab, cross combination.
Zander cracks Jigster with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Jigster needs to keep his hands up - Zander had a free shot at his head there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zander throws a hook to the side of Jigster's head but Jigster sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Zander has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jigster breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zander misses the jab.
Zander swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zander takes a swing at Jigster's ribcage but misses.
Zander misses with an uppercut
and Jigster counters with a three punch combo that has Zander backing up. Zander nods at Jigster to acknowledge the strikes.
A lazy left from Zander finds it's target.
Jigster tests Zander's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Zander throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jigster counters with a three punch combo that has Zander backing up. Zander nods at Jigster to acknowledge the strikes.

Zander moves into the clinch successfully.
Zander lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Zander breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jigster scores with a one two! Zander had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Jigster scores with a sloppy right hand. Zander should have avoided that one.
Oh Zander is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Zander throws a poor cross that misses
and Jigster counters with a nice body shot.
Jigster throws a sloppy head kick and Zander moves out of range easily.
Jigster throws a nice outside leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Zander. No joy for Jigster on that attempt.
Jigster Rushes Zander and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Zander is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Jigster Piles on the pressure and Zander crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
