The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez fails with the takedown.
Toriero tries to clinch up.
We've been hearing reports that Lopez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Lopez gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lopez content to control rather than advance.
Lopez lands with a punch from half guard.
Lopez is working for a submission of some sort.
Toriero looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Toriero is not content to let Lopez control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopez trying to move into half guard but instead Toriero has managed to sweep!
Toriero working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lopez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lopez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Toriero is in a horrible position here. Lopez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
It looks like Federico Toriero has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lopez controlling from mount.
Lopez lands a heavy elbow.
Toriero is bucking up trying to escape but Lopez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Lopez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Toriero is rocked!
Toriero defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lopez.
Lopez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Toriero tries to reverse the position but Lopez maintains control.
A big strike lands for Lopez! That's really hurt Toriero and he's turned his back - Lopez keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Lopez jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
