Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Waldo Macdonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark DelRusso!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DelRusso shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Macdonald pushes DelRusso off looking to stand but DelRusso dives back in and keeps control.
DelRusso gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
DelRusso throws a head kick that Macdonald semi-blocks.
DelRusso shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than DelRusso was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
DelRusso working the ground and pound but Macdonald is defending the strikes.
DelRusso lands some shots froms side control.
Macdonald is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but DelRusso has just dragged him back down to the mat.
DelRusso scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Macdonald is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and DelRusso can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
