Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Katsuji Rikidozan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jarred Rose!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose shoots in looking for a takedown but Rikidozan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rose's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Rose shoots for a takedown but Rikidozan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rikidozan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rose circles away quickly and effectively.
Rikidozan throws a sloppy head kick and Rose moves out of range easily.
Rikidozan throws a nice looking combination but Rose bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rose tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rikidozan swivels and escapes.
Katsuji Rikidozan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jarred Rose.
Rose fails to land the takedown.
Rose takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Rose shoots in looking for a takedown. Rikidozan tries to sprawl out of it but Rose keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rikidozan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rikidozan cracks Rose with an open hand slap.


It looks like Jarred Rose has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rose takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A big left from Rose misses.
Rikidozan blocks a jab.
Rikidozan leaves Rose with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rose looks winded!
Rose takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rikidozan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Rikidozan lands a head kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rose on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Rikidozan thuds a left hand into Rose's body.
Rikidozan lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Rose is looking to close the distance but Rikidozan sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Rose crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Rose is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Katsuji Rikidozan!
A relieved looking Katsuji Rikidozan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
