PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Slobo Berganovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pencil Neck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neck has chosen Deep Purple - Bad Attitude as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berganovic misses the jab.
Neck goes for a double leg but Berganovic avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Berganovic continues to drive forward.

Neck gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Berganovic regains guard.
Berganovic seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Neck in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Neck passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Berganovic is looking to regain half guard here but Neck keeps moving and retains side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Berganovic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Neck blocks a jab.

Berganovic is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Neck is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Neck accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Berganovic wants to sweep but no luck.
Neck is working Berganovic over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Neck postures up in Berganovic's guard and throws a big left but Berganovic blocks it.
Berganovic is looking to stand up but Neck isn't so interested in that idea.

Berganovic has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neck is looking for a triangle but Berganovic pushes his legs off easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Berganovic avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Neck told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Neck is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Berganovic would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Neck is looking to cinch up a triangle. Berganovic throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Neck's body to avoid the submission. Neck has instead reached around Berganovic's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Neck arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
