The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fransisco feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Carrillo is looking for a triangle but Fransisco pushes his legs off easily.
Fransisco throws a big elbow that misses.
Fransisco postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Fransisco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fransisco connects with a nice short shot to Carrillo's temple.

Fransisco has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carrillo's face.

Fransisco postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Carrillo bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Fransisco and the fight is over!

Paulo Fransisco took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
