The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arona instigates a clinch.
Arona is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cezar is defending well for now.
Cezar looking for a takedown.
Cezar is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Arona is defending well.
Cezar is trying to push Arona away but Arona has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Cezar fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Airton Arona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miralles Cezar.
Arona gets underhooks to prevent Cezar's takedown attempt.

Cezar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Arona can't fight it off and eventually Cezar manages to take the fight to the floor. Arona looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Cezar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cezar is keen to just control but Arona is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Miralles Cezar was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Arona shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cezar as he jumps to the side.

Cezar has managed to clinch.
Cezar is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Cezar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cezar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Arona is staying active underneath Cezar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Cezar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Arona knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Cezar is taking a breather. Arona says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cezar stops Arona from getting back to his feet.

Cezar is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Arona has managed to free his arm - good work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cezar is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cezar postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Arona to stand up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Arona tries to sprawl but Cezar drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cezar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Arona did well to prevent Cezar getting side control.
Cezar wants to take a breather but Arona is having none of it.

Cezar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Arona defends it well.
Cezar content to control rather than advance.

Cezar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arona doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cezar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cezar works his foot free and advances to mount.

Arona is squirming around, avoiding Cezar's attempts to control the action.

Cezar quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Cezar but it's paid off an Arona is forced to tap! Nice work by Cezar.
